Draft Eurobodalla 2030 Community Strategic Plan

friendly, responsible, thriving, proud

The second public exhibition of the eurobodalla2030 draft Community Strategic Plan occurs between 14 November and 12 December 2011.

A requirement of the Local Government Act (1993), the plan, once adopted, will responsibly guide social, economic and environmental long-term decision making in the Eurobodalla Shire. The draft plan has been produced by Council in consultation with the community in line with the NSW Government's Integrated Planning and Reporting reforms.

Eurobodalla Shire Council has consulted with well over 2,000 people since July 2010 through surveys, forums, workshops and its community reference group to ensure the community has had a say about where it wants the Shire to be in the year 2030 and how it will get there.

Through this process, community laid foundations of the plan have helped Council to draft a simple, but bold vision for the next 20 years. The vision is eurobodalla2030: friendly, responsible, thriving and proud.

To turn the vision into actions, the draft Community Strategic Plan features four focus areas, liveable, sustainable, productive and collaborative communities. Each of these focus areas identifies specific objectives and strategies and the people or organisations responsible for making them happen.

While the Community Strategic Plan is on exhibition, Council is also exhibiting medium term delivery and resourcing options that will help determine how the Shire will successfully carry out its Community Strategic Plan responsibilities. Refer to the Corporate Reports section on Council's home page for more information.
