Eurobodalla Shire Council Media Release - 27 July
2010
Developing a plan for the future - be proud, be part of
it
Eurobodalla Shire Council has adopted the community engagement
strategy for a strategic plan that will capture the community's
wishes and establish the shared objectives for the future of our
Shire.
eurobodalla 2030 will be prepared by Council with the community
and other government and non-government agencies over the next 18
months to meet the requirements of a new planning and reporting
framework.
The Mayor, Fergus Thomson, says when finished, the plan will be
the Council and the Eurobodalla community's highest level strategic
document. "Eurobodalla 2030 will set out the priorities and the
best way forward for the people, the environment and the economy of
our Shire."
"It will be based on community input and the feedback gathered
during conversations and consultations which have been designed to
capture and establish what the shared objectives for the Shire's
future are. The community engagement and media strategy will ensure
everyone is aware of the development process of the plan and of the
ways to get involved," he said.
Members of the community will be able to participate actively in
many ways, including speaking with the Mayor, other Councillors and
staff at community engagement meetings and information sessions.
Clr Thomson urges everyone to take part. "You can find out when,
